ART Art: In D-Y people think of not taking that class because it might be hard. Others take it for the easy grade. Once you are in that class it is guaranteed that you will like art and learn some new skills. When you are in the class it is fun because you can pretty much take a break from the rest of the day and just hang out and talk to your friends. If you were frustrated about something in the class before Art then you will have the 85 minute class just to refresh and cool down.
The Drawing teacher's name is Mr.A. When you are drawing and designing your creations Mr.A has the radio playing so you can just be entertained while you draw. In his Art class you learn about all the tools you have and what they are used for. In this class the tools you use are pencils, charcoal, colored pencils and different kinds of paper. In this class some of the projects are charcoal additive and take away, hand drawings and also looking at value shapes and shading.
Another form ofArt this school has is sculpture. this class is with Ms.Kessler.In this class, you get to build 3-D sculptures. The teacher is very nice. During the class she lets you listen to music while working on your projects, and the projects are really easy to complete if you know what your doing. Some of the projects involve using basic units which play an important role in the toothpick sculptures. In this class you also get the chance to cool down after a hard class just like in drawing class. A few projects you do are toothpick sculpture, Wire frames, and masks.
Also offered in the D-Y art department is the Ceramics class. In this class, students get to make many different objects with clay. Some of these include slab boxes, pinch pots, wheel work (that's like making small bowls and vases), a coil pot and a small five piece sculpture. In this class, the teacher, Mrs. Eldridge, puts on the radio and always has an entertaining question of the day called "The Impossible Question" that students get to entertain themselves in trying to figure out. At the end of the term, or even as soon as the work has been graded, you can take your pieces home and share them with your family. Just as a side note, they make wonderful presents for your mom or dad!
If you have trouble in both of these classes it will seem like you are maybe failing but that is not true you are graded on how you work and how much hard work you have put into your creations. Artis such a good class if i had a choice of taking Artall year or just a semester i would pick the whole year. This class is only half a year because Art is a elective. But it should be for the whole year.
Art class is all about fun and enjoying what you like to do. Anything is Art if you like sports that is a art to. You can put whatever I interest you into your own form of Arthowever you like it. I believe that our school is lucky because some other schools do not have a Artclass in their school to experience what it is their passion and have their Art known. That is why I wrote about the subject of Art. I hope people look at Art a different way now.
